Bangor is proud to be the very first of all the Fat Cats. Opened in 1992 it is still the place in Bangor to go and relax. The basement offers comfy sofas and booths that can be enjoyed to the soundtrack of an eclectic mix of music. The balcony and beer garden are an ideal place during the summer months to enjoy an alfresco meal or drinks, and now the Smoking Ban is here and while the weather is not so good, the terrace is now heated and covered with our new canopy.

Food & Drink
Food is available all day, seven days a week. Along side our all day menu, we have a lunch menu that changes monthly as well as Chefs Evening Specials. All dishes are prepared to order from fresh ingredients. We are very much ‘can do’ at Fat Cat in our attitude towards our food. So if you would like your food slightly different to how it appears on the menu or you have specific nutritional requirement please do not hesitate to ask your server about variations.

The bar plays host to an extensive range of bottled and draught beers, wines from around the globe and stocks numerous spirits. We are renowned for the quality of our cocktails and produce an impressive list that changes with the seasons. If it’s a bit early in the day for a French Martini, we have a selection of hot drinks that can be accompanied by one of our great puddings and cakes.

Weekend Recovery Service
We are here to help every Saturday and Sunday at the Fat Cat Cafe Bar. Breakfasts are served all day with plenty of coffee, fresh juices, mocktails & smoothies. Plenty of newspapers & magazines - in the perfect surroundings to wind down or up...So whether you’re recovering from a night out or preparing for a party weekend - we have everything you’ll need!

Fat Cat Sunday Lunch - Sunday lunch at the Fat Cat - traditional & fresh.  Ask at the bar for the day’s selection & choices of seasonal vegetables. Why not treat yourself to a bottle of House Champagne with your Sunday Lunch for only £20 12noon-4pm every Sunday.

The basement is the venue for Science Café on the first Thursday of every month. With guest speakers, a presentation and topical debate, feel free to come and join in the discussion. Monday is the turn of Pole Dancing. From beginner, intermediate and advanced, all classes are run by Zara from
Sharp-shooters entertainment.

Cocktail Heaven - 2 for 1 cocktails every day from 5-8pm. Identical cocktails from our selected cocktails only.

Our student nights are Monday and Wednesdays, with two for one cocktails all day and 20% off everything with the presentation of a valid NUS card.The Basement is open on a Monday and Wednesday NIght with DJ's playing the best music around. If you are an aspiring student DJ and fancy playing one of our student nights ask in site for more details.

Finding Us
We are situated at the top end of the High Street past the cathedral and are within easy reach of the train station. Parking is available at the rear of the building in two large public car parks.
